Going Home?

Is it possible?  The words “going home” keep getting mentioned more and more often every time we go to clinic.  In fact, today we got our schedule for the week, and two appointments stuck out to me for Thursday.  The first is that there is a procedure scheduled to pull out my hickman line, and the second is an appointment with the doctor entitled “going home consultation”.  While at clinic today they told me that they had scheduled an appointment for me with a doctor in Idaho for April 21.  So, it appears as though after Thursday, as long as everything stays stable, I am able to come home.  They asked us today if we were going to fly home or drive home, and we weren’t sure.  We told them that after having our lives dictated by the schedule they set for us for so long, that they’d probably have to make the decision for us and put it on our schedule.  We’ve lived our lives day by day for so long, that it is hard to make a plan even just several days out as circumstances can and have changed quickly.  But we are cautiously optimistic for the weekend!

This week I have continued to feel better every day.  It was probably helped along by having a few guests throughout the week and weekend to brighten my days.  On Wednesday, Jim and Jan Richardson from Idaho came up for lunch, then my aunt Joyce came from Chicago for the weekend, and Joe Mogford stopped in on Saturday from Salem.

Hey, that is about the best news we’ve heard in a long time. Praise God for all He’s done for you and yours Tim. About you being an addition to the Mariners. With me being from the Seattle area, we follow the Mariners and right now you sure wouldn’t hurt them. They are not doing so well. We had high hopes for their opening night but its all history now. Take care and hope your home soon to stay for a long time this time. In Christ, Steve and Deb Bliss

Yay! We’re so glad you should be back in God’s country soon! Let us know what the rules are for visits, with/without kids, no women in general…etc. :-) Hope you keep feeling better, we’ll continue (along with most of our church) to pray and praise God for all he has done!

  11. Tim, I’m so excited for you, that you get to sleep in your OWN BED :) As nurse Stephanie said, I was getting not a little, but a LOT nervous when I didn’t hear from you on your blog for awhile! I also know that this transition will bring some trepidation to you! Just remember GOD goes BEFORE YOU in all circumstances!! “For this, YOU HAVE JESUS!” He will still protect you, give you strength, peace and healing!! Oh what JOY to know that YOU ARE GOING HOME!! Blessings,
    auntie m

  15. Jim – DON’T MAKE ME DO THIS AGAIN!
Tim we really are praying that this will be the last blog sent to you in Seattle. We are hopeful that the next time we speak it will be face to face. Hebrews 13:20-21.

Ed – Dear Tim, I like this verse, showing how much God Loves us. John 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I love you. May you rejoice in this and we will see you soon, Lord willing.

Steward – Dear Mr. Tim, I am so excited to see that you are finally coming home. Perhaps Eric & I can have you over for a meal sometime when your feeling like it. Keep the chin up, I am praying for you to come home.
See you soon. I Love you.

Gary – Well thankfully Jim did not have me type the whole bible today! :) I was so thrilled to read this update! I am eager to assist you however I can when you come home. You have been inspirational in your handling of this. Your brother in HIM.

  16. Hi Tim,
I have a friend I grew up with who goes to church in LaGrange, IL. There is a girl that knows you from Cedarville. Her name is Sarah Jett! My friend’s name is Janet Wheatley. Your dad knows her. Small world, huh?!
Trust you have a GOOD day tomorrow with all your appointments and hickman removal. Safe Travels!
    love,

  17. It will be great to have you and your family home! We will keep praying for God’s hand in the upcoming travel decisions. Love you!!!!!

  18. Wow! Great news! Glad you are doing so well and getting to go home. I know what you mean about having your life so scheduled. It took a few weeks to figure out that we would have to now do it ourselves. Todd is still doing well. He will start physical therapy next week for some calf stiffness and pain they think is related to one of the antibiotocs. He also has a good case of thrush in his mouth. It took him a few days to realize why his mouth was getting sore. He said it felt a little like Paliferman. Another side effect of the antibiotics, but it clears fairly quickly with medication. Have a safe trip home and may God continue to provide you with healing!

  19. Best news ever Tim!!! We are so glad to have you coming home. Hopefully before long your immune system will be built up enough to have you come out and be with friends who have missed you so much. Congrats and fighting this with all the strength you had. Welcome Home!!!

    Hi Tim,

I know a few people who care about you very much. Your Nurse Stephanie and I were best friends in 1st grade at Nampa Christian and remain friends to this day. I was also very good friends with your Aunt Ronna when we were kids and am hoping to see her this coming weekend when she’s in Idaho for your grandparents birthday celebration. I also played the piano for the youth group for a time when your parents were the youth group leaders at Berean Baptist Church (this was in the 70s). I also have cancer and even though our journeys with cancer are different, I think you’d agree that there’s a lot of good and blessings that go with having the Big C. It certainly makes the sky bluer and the grass greener. My prayers are with you and your family, Tim. I hope that you are now in remission for the rest of your life. Your web site is very interesting…maybe a book is in your future?? :o )

    Your old buddy Stewie

Ed Writes: Dearr Tim WELCOME HOME
We enjoyed having you on drums again. Everybody is praying and we trust all will go well in your recovery. We love you ED.

Pastor Jim writes:Praise God! We give thanks to our Lord for you Tim. Sunday had a different kind of energy with you on the drums and the look on your face was the “joy of the Lord.” We are looking forward to seeing you more often and we want to invite you to join us one Wednesday morning when you are able. Now unto Him who can do more than we could ever ask or think, be glory for ever and ever, Amen.

    Gary was MIA this morning.
